It's funny, from the perspective of the future it's easy to see this was clearly revolutionary.
At the time though, I wonder how many people were listening and thinking it's marketing fluff - easy to do I'm sure.

It was a sales hit from the beginning, but it took a couple of years for it to really make an impact beyond the tech world. I personally think that while the technology was great, what really took it to the next level was the app store and its developers. The app store came out a year after the first iphone iirc

There were full screen smart devices with like 5 buttons instead of the iPhone's single button. These usually run Windows Mobile. In my opinion they wasn't hard to use and they provided destop class apps, like Excel even with macro support. These were called PDAs and there were some PDAs that had SIM support and could be used as a phone. I wanted to buy one of these but they cost something like $700, while a normal phone was around $100. At the time it was unthinkable to me to pay this much for a phone.
Apple was not revolutionary for inventing these, they already existed. Apple just took already existing ideas, packaged them, optimized them for the avarage user and made them popular with their marketing bullshit. As they always do.
As a side note, I have never payed more than $100 for a phone ever since. I have a 2 years old Umidigi A5 Pro, it has 4GB ram, 2280*1080 6.3" screen, triple cameras and a strong enough CPU to run COD Mobile fluently. This is for a 2 years old phone that cost $100 new.

and give good news to those who believe that
they are on a sound footing with their Lord”?
The disbelievers said, “This is a manifest sor￾cerer.”
    3. Your Lord is Allah, who created the heavens
and the earth in six days, then settled over the
Throne, governing all things. There is no in￾tercessor except after His permission. Such is
Allah, your Lord—so serve Him. Will you not
    4. To Him is your return, altogether. The
